Preliminary Program At A Glance
Saturday, April 21 and Sunday April 22
Building on the success of the past three years we are pleased to present a conference that reflects the importance of interprofessional collaboration to support patient centred care in these times of rapidly advancing technology. As in previous years we will be providing a good
blend of technical and supportive care topics in plenary, workshop and poster sessions. (a glance at last year's program.)

The program includes a keynote speaker on both Saturday and Sunday, followed by plenary sessions with workshops being offered in concurrent sessions in the afternoon. Posters will be displayed throughout the conference. There will also be plenty of time to interact and dialogue with colleagues.

Our keynote speakers include Linda Rabeneck, Regional Vice President, Cancer Care Ontario, and Vice President, Regional Cancer Services, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and Jack Cunningham, the previous Head of Clinical Physics at Princess Margaret Hospital. Linda Rabeneck will speak about the importance of multiprofessional collaboration in this era of accelerated technological development and expanding roles and responsibilities of the health care team. Jack Cunningham has the unique perspective of witnessing the exponential change in technology in radiation therapy since the development of the first Canadian Cobalt teletherapy unit in the 1950's. His historical view and anecdotes will provide a lively session for the audience.

In addition, our keynote speakers will be followed by two stimulating plenary sessions. On Saturday, Miles Johnston, Senior Scientist, Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre, and Professor, Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, University of Toronto, will speak about the importance of the lymphatic system in cancer patients and the problem of lymphedema as a result of cancer treatments. On Sunday, Mary Preece, Provost and Vice President, Academic at the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences will be speaking about exciting educational initiatives in interprofessional education.
