2007 Toronto Radiation Medicine Conference:
Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22 2007
We hope you will join us for our 4th Annual Toronto Radiation Medicine Conference.
The conference themes are Interprofessional Working Practices and Adoption of Innovation.

Objectives of our Two-day Program
Within interdisciplinary plenary sessions and concurrent afternoon sessions,
participants will:

  • Understand the importance of interprofessional collaboration and teamwork in the rapidly changing discipline of radiation oncology.

  • Discuss the importance of the lymphatic system and the problem of lymphedema in cancer patients.

  • Describe management strategies for patients with lymphedema.

  • Outline innovative treatment techniques and procedures in radiation therapy.

  • Describe innovative teaching methods used to improve learning for patients, staff and undergraduate students.

  • Review the evolution of the technical aspects of radiation therapy from early treatment machines to the technologically advanced machines used in the twenty first century.

  • Be aware of a new model for clinical education that puts interprofessional education at the forefront.

  • Describe a number of advanced roles for radiation therapists and radiation oncology nurses that have developed as a result of technological advances.

Location Situated on 114 acres, the Kingbridge Centre in King City, Ontario, is a state of the art conference centre and spa.
